Stevie Recommends Second Chances
September 23, 2009
We all make mistakes. No one is perfect and everyone deserves a second chance.
We hear it all the time, but we never do it! Take a minute and think about the times you wanted a second chance, you wanted to prove to someone you can do something. It happens to all of us and we all want someone to forgive and forget something. Sometimes a fresh start is good. We all need a break every once in a while. Sometimes we get wrapped up in little stupid things. Don’t let one mistake ruin a friendship or a relationship. Give everyone a second chance.
Step back and think about someone you know who might need a second chance. Let them know you understand that they made a mistake and that you are willing to forgive them. Sometimes when we make a mistake, that’s the time we need our friends the most. And sometimes the people we hurt the most are the ones we need the most forgiveness from.
Stevie Recommends Hair Products
September 16, 2009
I thought it would be a good idea to start giving you guys tips once a week on things I recommend on using, it will either be a product, advice, way to solve something, or just simply something I think every teen should know.
The first recommendation is a product. It’s called Pantene Beautiful Lengths. It’s such a great product for a couple reasons.
1. It makes your hair smell great, even after you straighten it! How many products do that?
2. It’s supposed to make your hair grow, and I believe it does…Well it does for me.
3. It’s satisfaction garenteed, and if you don’t like it they give you your money back x2. You know it must really work!
4. A portion of the proceeds from every bottle are donated to a program that created wigs for women dealing with cancer.
For more information go to, www.beautifullengths.com
**DISCLAIMER: This is only what I recommend. Just because I think it works doesn’t mean it will for you, but I hope it does. I will post one about once a week, and I will do about ten. If you would like more than ten please comment letting me know and I will continue doing tips.

Simple Birthday Gift Ideas
July 14, 2009
There are always a ton of birthdays in the summer, so I here are a couple ideas to get you started.
– Make your own pedicure/manicure set. Get a small basket at a craft store, a put cotton balls filling the bottom. Buy things like nail polish remover, different color nail polish, nail stickers, a nail file, nail brush, a nail buffer, a little scrubber, and some nail clippers. You can add what you want if your in the nail isle and you see something that will fit in. Then you also have the cotton balls at the bottom so when they are removing their nail polish they have something to remove it with.
–Make a photo board. It’s really simple, Take either a cord board or a foam kind of board that you can cover with fabric. Make sure you buy fabric that fits your friend, and buy ribbon to match. You need to take quilt filling that you can buy at a craft store and put it under the fabric and have it covering the board. Stable it on, and then take the ribbon and criss cross it over the board. It will look similar to this pink board in this picture except you can do your ribbon different. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10794018
–Buy a pair of flip flops and fabric. Cut the fabric in strips and tie the strips around the flip flops and decorate them. Buy a towel or some beach items to go with it.
– Get a photo album and print pictures of you and the person your making the gift for. Or buy a photo album you can decorate and make more personal.
–Make a scrapbook. Go online and get coupons for the store you want to buy from. I suggest a craft store over walmart or target. You can look online to get good ideas on how to get started and how to do good design.
Hope those ideas help. They are more homemade so you can make them as personal as you want.
Summer Self-Esteem Challenge sponsored by Girls With Dreams
May 23, 2009
Can we count you in for our Summer Self-Esteem Challenge sponsored by Girls With Dreams?
Are you tired of feeling pressured to have a perfect body?
Are you tired of comparing yourself and being compared to other girls?
What if girls could joing together and eliminate the pressure to be thin?
We’re definitely tired of it! The idea for this challenge came from a recent discussion Molly and Sarah were having at school about body image and American Idol’s “Bikini Girl”. Swimsuit season is here and it just another reminder of how difficult it is for girls to be happy in their own bodies.
It’s hard to live up to the bodies on TV and in magazines, and it’s even harder to be around a group of girls who are comparing their own beauty to each other. The saddest part is that we are all guilty. Help us improve self-esteem in girls all over the world by joining our Summer Self-Esteem Challenge:
- The next time you’re in an outfit , swimsuits included, and you start mentally or verbally comparing yourself to your friends, STOP. Stop trying to figure out who has the best legs or flattest stomach and replace those comparisons with compliments.
- Every time you find yourself picking apart the way you look or feeling jealous of someone else, give yourself one compliment and at least two to your friends.
- When you wake up in the morning, don’t forget to start the day by looking in the mirror and complimenting yourself.
- Pick one way to eat healthier. You could eliminate soda, drink more water, or eat more fruits or veggies.
- Pick one form of exercise to do every day. Since it’s summer, this shouldn’t be too hard. You could swim, bike, walk, run, dance or rollerblade!
- Help us reach 100,000 girls by August 31, 2009. Please share this challenge with 3 friends so Girls With Dreams can all help improve every girl’s self-esteem.
If you haven’t joined the Girls With Dreams Self-Esteem Challenge yet, what are you waiting for? Join now!

Make Your Own Vision Board!
January 14, 2009
One way to kick start your year, or embark upon a turning point in your life is to create a Vision Board that helps you visualize what you want to have in your life. This activity is a huge step in creating the life you really want.
It’s easy to get started:
1. Find poster board, a piece of cardboard, the back of wrapping paper, etc…
2. Flip through magazines and cut out pictures of things you want to accomplish this year. Look for words, images, and things you really resonate with.
3. Glue all of the items you select onto your vision board. You can really let your creativity shine through on this step. Add scrapbooking materials, embellishments or other items to give your Vision Board even more of a personal touch.
4. Look at your Vision Board every day to remind yourself of what you want to have and create in your life. Imagine what it would feel like if your team won the soccer championship, you traveled to Spain for the first time, or you aced your Chemistry exam. Get the Idea?
We’d love to see or hear about your Vision Board! Email your thoughts or pictures to info@girlswithdreams.com to tell us how yours is coming along and how it’s paid off.
