A Letter for Your Mom
May 8, 2008
For those times when you just can’t find the right words, try writing your mom a letter and slip it in her purse where she will be surprised to find it.
Here’s an idea for a great letter to your mom:
Dear Mom,
Sometimes its hard to tell you how I really feel. I know I get wrapped up in school and doing things with my friends, but I want you to know how much I love you and how much the little things matter to me. Like the times you…
…stayed up with me until 3 a.m. when I wasn’t feeling well.
…let me cry my eyes out after the breakup and didn’t give me a lecture.
…took me shopping for no reason.
…gave me a pep talk about my bad grade in chemistry.
…yell at me because you know when I’m just trying to skate by and not doing my best.
…waited for hours in the car while I finish practice.
…make pancakes for me.
…always know what I need.
…told me I was a star, even though I didn’t feel that way.
…stayed up late worrying about me.
…believed in me when I had given up on myself.
I could make this list 100 lines long because you’ve done so much for me. I just want you to know how much I love you and appreciate you. I’m sorry that I forget it say it a lot. Even though I often seem too involved in my own world, I can’t imagine life without you. I know I wouldn’t be who I am without such an amazing mom!
